The Only Denver PHP with Gym Time in Every Clinical Day
Most Denver PHPs are talk-therapy only. Ours integrates structured physical movement into every clinical day, alongside CBT, DBT, somatic, and relapse prevention groups. Movement isn’t an amenity at True North — it’s a clinical intervention with research-backed effects on craving regulation, mood, sleep, and Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome.
Our therapists are licensed and credentialed plus NASM-certified trainers, Precision Nutrition coaches, or trauma-informed somatic movement specialists. The same clinical team that leads your clinical group also leads the strength or mobility block.
what to expect
A Typical PHP Day at True North
Physical activity is a powerful, research-supported intervention in addiction recovery. In our PHP, structured physical exercise is intentionally integrated into clinical care, not treated as an optional activity. Substance use can disrupt neurotransmitter systems, elevate stress responses, and worsen symptoms of Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS). Our program uses movement as a therapeutic tool to support healing at a biological and emotional level.

Whole-Person Wellness & Medical Support
Addiction often disrupts basic health maintenance. Our insurance-accepted PHP in Denver prioritizes comprehensive wellness support to help clients reengage with their overall health. Integrated Support Includes:
- Nutrition education and wellness planning
- Medication management and psychiatric coordination
- Assistance accessing primary care providers, dental care, and medical services
- Support navigating the healthcare system
By stabilizing physical health alongside mental health, clients are better prepared for long-term recovery success.
Structured Care, Community, and Accountability
Our Denver PHP provides the structure and consistency many individuals need during early recovery. Through daily programming and community engagement, clients develop responsibility, reliability, and connection. Participants learn to:
- Build healthy routines
- Strengthen communication skills
- Develop accountability to self and others
- Experience belonging and peer support in recovery
Community plays a vital role in healing – and in sustaining progress beyond treatment.
Movement Integrated Into Every Clinical Hour
Every clinical day across our PHP, IOP, and IOP programs includes structured gym time alongside group therapy. Not as an amenity. As a clinical intervention.
Why Movement
Substance use disrupts dopamine, cortisol regulation, and sleep. Structured exercise directly counters these — reducing craving intensity, improving sleep, supporting mood stabilization.
How We Integrate It
Credentialed clinicians (licensed therapists + NASM-certified trainers) facilitate both the movement block and the clinical group within the same clinical session.
Who It's For
Most clients. Movement is scaled to individual ability. Clients with medical contraindications can do Outpatient (OP), our talk-only step-down track.
Housing + Clinical Care, Working Together
True North has partnered with Elevate Recovery Homes to pair stable, supportive sober living with our clinical services – because recovery is harder without a safe place to come home to:
- Structured sober living in a peer-supported environment
- Housing coordinated directly alongside your treatment plan
- Smooth transitions from clinical care to independent living
- Accountability, community, and daily structure built in
Financial Assistance for Qualifying Clients
Cost should never be a barrier to safe housing. Scholarships are available to help cover placement at an Elevate Recovery Home for clients who qualify. Contact our admission team to find out if you’re eligible.

Yes. Our Partial Hospitalization Program in Denver accepts many insurance plans. Coverage depends on your specific policy, and our admissions team can help verify benefits.
Most clients participate in PHP for 2-4 weeks before stepping down to IOP. The actual duration depends on clinical progress, insurance authorization, and individual goals. Step-down planning happens with your primary clinician throughout.
